Welcome and thanks for visiting Homebrew HT!
I decided to create this blog in an effort to share my knowledge and experiences in media centers, servers, networking, electronics and various other fields. As a result, the content of this blog will vary widely - providing an ever interesting read.
I am an A/V, Home Theater, Linux and Electronics enthusiast and I am continually updating and upgrading my home multimedia setup, which is the basis for this blog. I have stepped through several iterations of media center (as well as back-end servers, networks, etc.) over the years and besides pushing forward in my quest to better my current system, I intend to 'resurrect' these iterations and publish the details here for anyone who is interested.
I fully understand that not everyone is able to go out and buy the latest and greatest gear. My philosophy in this hobby is simple: it's no fun to go out and buy systems or devices that are 'plug and play'. I would rather use something I already have lying around and make it work - and if I have already done that, go out and buy something interesting and set it up the way I want it. If I am indeed 'stuck' with something, it's always a consideration to modify it to make it more unique!
I hope this collection of knowledge and opinions is useful to you! Please feel free to make requests, provide comment and ask questions!
